Down Syndrome
By using evidence-informed measures and interventions, therapists can help improve the health, mobility, independent living skills and overall quality of life of children with Down Syndrome. In this course, Alyssa will review the common presentation of children with Down Syndrome, and the expected trajectory of their motor skill development. Participants will learn the evidence supporting the use of various standardized assessment tools and intervention approaches. She will discuss how to leverage this knowledge so that participants can confidently participate and contribute to goal setting, creation of plan of care and provision of services and supports to help the child succeed from early childhood to adolescence.
