The Role of Occupational Therapy Practitioners in School Mental Health Programs

This course will discuss how occupational therapy practitioners add value at each layer of a multi-tiered approach to prevention, promotion, early identification, and treatment of student and adult mental health in schools. Using an occupation-centered lens, participants will analyze how occupational therapy practitioner expertise in self-regulation, social skills, personal care, environmental/routines modifications, and transitions can enhance campus-, classroom-, group-, and person-level mental health supports and services.
